Hackathons are a good way for individuals to collaborate and work in a team, ideate and take a project to fruition, in a short interval of time. They also give participants a chance to enhance their programming skills and network with like-minded people.
Kovai Techathon
Kovai Techathon wishes to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of Coimbatore by bringing together people and building projects to tackle civic challenges. During the event day participants will come together to create and build products based on three streams – IoT, Mobile and Data.
In collaboration with TiE Coimbatore, a group of technology enthusiasts called Kovaitechstart is organising the hackathon titled ‘Kovai Tech-A-Thon’ on Jan 31 – Feb 1, 2015. Its an event for people who are passionate about building & delivering quality stuffs and giving it to the community.The hackathon is open to all. Participants have to bring any hardware, laptops or smartphones that that they need for the event.
Participants can build mobile or web based apps to solve civic issues faced by a city like Coimbatore. Although the challenges will be Coimbatore-centric, participants have to ensure that their solutions are relevant for a global audience.
The jury will be judging the work based on 3 parameters – What the app does, originality, and the actual implementation of the application.
